Women of the ELCA is the women's organization of the ELCA. As a partner in the total ministry of the church, the organization affirms, supports and challenges women in their daily ministries at home and around the world. This network of Lutheran women, participating in nearly 7,800 local units, is committed to growth in faith, affirmation of women and women's ministries, leadership development, education, advocacy, and service. More than an organization, Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is a ministry movement of women of faith who make a difference in the world and, through the power of God in their lives, make the world different. Women of the ELCA at First Lutheran Church have close to 100 active members, divided into four different groups called "circles." Each circle holds a monthly bible study and offers members fellowship and support in a Christian atmosphere.
