THE ALL SAINTS CHAPEL AT FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH
This chapel is located in the north transept and contains the altar, pulpit, lectern and the altar appointments used in our former church building. It is very fit tingly dedicated to All Saints, those of our congregation who have passed on to the Church Triumphant. The memorial symbol above the altar shows the Stars Branches of Victory, and the Crown of Heaven, the Palm of Glory.
The appointments in this chapel have the same symbolical meanings as those of a similar kind in the main chancel. However, instead of a wood reredos, we have a dossal curtain forming the background of the altar. The cross on this altar is known as the “graded cross”. The three steps at the base denote Faith, Hope and Charity (Love).
This chapel is to be used by families and small groups for communions, weddings and funerals, or for any other special purely devotional purposes not requiring the space of the church proper. It may be used for private devotion at all times except when a regular service may be in progress.
